About the Programme

This graduate program aims to train researchers who wish to deepen their theoretical knowledge in the field of film and television, analyze visual culture from an academic perspective, and produce original scientific research. By addressing the artistic, social, and ideological dimensions of cinema through an interdisciplinary approach, the program provides students with a foundation for advanced expertise.

The program’s curriculum covers specialized fields such as film theory, film criticism, gender and media, digital visual culture, film sociology, narratology, genre studies, and advanced research methods. In this regard, the program aims to prepare students to become academic candidates or experts who are well-versed in both national and international literature, possess well-developed critical thinking skills, and have internalized scientific ethical values.

The Master’s Program in Cinema and Television with Thesis focuses not only on students consuming existing knowledge but also on developing academic competencies such as text analysis, theoretical modeling, original thesis development, and the production of scholarly publications. Through seminars, research paper projects, and symposium participation conducted during the educational process, students have the opportunity to closely follow current academic discussions in the field of cinema and television and contribute to these discussions.
