History

The Radio, Television, and Cinema Department was established with the aim of training communication professionals who can understand the rapidly changing structure of audiovisual culture, think critically, and engage in creative production. The department operates within the Tirebolu Faculty of Communication and adopts an educational approach that combines the theoretical and practical dimensions of cinema, television, and new media.

Since its inception, the department has aimed to address the relationship between communication sciences and audiovisual arts from a holistic perspective. In this regard, the goal is not only for students to acquire technical skills but also to be able to evaluate media production within its cultural, aesthetic, and social contexts.

The educational program is continuously updated in line with technological and aesthetic transformations in the fields of radio, television, and cinema; the relationship between academic research and creative production is strengthened. The department aims to prepare its students for different sectors of the communication field by offering them both theoretical knowledge and application-based production experience.
