Accreditation Activities

1. Our Quality Policy and Strategic Vision

The Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema at the Tirebolu Faculty of Communication has adopted the principles of excellence in education and continuous improvement. Our quality policy is based on updating the curriculum to meet universal standards, reinforcing a student-centered approach to education, and monitoring academic outputs that generate social benefits. We manage all our processes within the Plan – Do – Check – Act (PDCA) cycle, in a transparent and accountable structure.

2. Accreditation Process: İLEDAK Candidacy

Our department has initiated the accreditation process with İLEDAK (Communication Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board) to certify the quality of the education we provide at the national level and elevate quality standards to the highest level.

  • Current Status: Our accreditation application has been officially submitted, and the evaluation process is being closely monitored.
  • Objective: To strengthen the national and international validity of our graduates’ diplomas and to ensure sustainable quality assurance by subjecting our curriculum to external review.

3. Participatory Management and Stakeholder Feedback

The opinions of our internal and external stakeholders serve as our primary guide in measuring the quality of our education:

  • Student Satisfaction Surveys: At the end of each academic term, course content, physical facilities, and teaching methods are evaluated by our students; the results are reviewed by the Department Academic Council, and improvements are implemented.
  • External Stakeholder and Alumni Relations: Through dialogues established with industry representatives, our students’ employability is enhanced, and course content is revised according to the sector’s current demands (digital transformation, new media ethics, etc.).

4. The Curriculum’s Dynamic Structure and Traceability

The Radio, Television, and Cinema Department curriculum is a living system, far from a static structure.

  • Program Outcomes: The competencies our students must acquire by graduation are fully aligned with İLEDAK standards and the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).
  • Continuous Updates: Scientific projects and current graduate thesis studies featured in our Research section are directly integrated into our course content, ensuring the relevance of theoretical education.

5. Quality and Accreditation Commission

The Quality and Accreditation Commission, established within our department, coordinates efforts to ensure compliance with İLEDAK standards, the preparation of self-assessment reports, and the promotion of a quality culture within the department.
